Artisan Dental a Certified B Corporation
Since our inception in 2014, our mission and vision has been to create an integrated prosperity that includes all stakeholders connected to our business. These stakeholders include our patients, our team members, the suppliers who support us and the communities and the planet we all share.
Artisan Dental became a certified B Corporation in 2017 as a demonstration of our commitment to enacting our mission and to meeting the high standards of transparency, accountability, and performance being certified B corporation offers. Called “the highest standard for socially responsible business by Inc. magazine, B Corporation certification is to sustainable business what USDA organic certification is to food or what Leed certification is to buildings. There are currently over 2600 certifed B corporations across 60 countries in over 130 industries. Household names of certified B corporations include Patagonia clothing, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, Method cleaning products, and Stoneyfield yogurt. We are also delighted to be part of a movement that is evolving what it means to be successful in business and a force for good in the world.
B Corp certification is to sustainable business what USDA Organic certification is to milk or Fair Trade certification is to coffee. B Corps are certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Today, there is a growing community of more than 2,600 Certified B Corps from 60+ countries and 130 industries working together toward one unifying goal: to evolve the definition of success in business.

Why it Matters?
Certified B Corporations are leading a global movement to redefine success in business. By voluntarily meeting higher standards of transparency, accountability, and performance. We hope that you are inspired, not just by our vision, but by the Certified B Corporation movement’s ability to translate ideas into action.
B Lab is a nonprofit organization based in Pennsylvania that certifies B Corporations. The B stands for “benefit,” and refers to benefiting workers, the community and the environment. To qualify as a B Corp, a firm must have an explicit social or environmental mission, and a legally binding fiduciary responsibility to take into account the interests of workers, the community and the environment as well as its shareholders. A company must also amend its articles of incorporation. In addition, a B Corp must pay an annual fee based on revenues, biannually complete a B Impact Report (a lengthy questionnaire that measures social and environmental impact), meet B-Lab’s comprehensive social and environmental performance standards and make that B Impact Report public, in order to receive the certification from B Lab.
