Get to know fellow Madison B Corp – Just Coffee.
Artisan Dental is proud to be among companies with a similar vision of using business as a force for good. We applaud Just Coffee, right here in Madison, for the great job that they are doing!
“We became a B-Corp because we are proud of the work we do and have always felt the term “fair trade’ only captures one aspect of how we operate. We are committed to excellence from bean to cup and are excited to be a part of a movement of other businesses who are also committed to that same level of excellence in their fields. We strive to do right by every person, place, and thing that our business comes into contact with and we believe this leads to better coffee in your cup.”
Just Coffee – B Corp Impact Report
“When we heard about the B Corp certification, it was like a lightbulb going off. It addressed all of the core things that we were trying to do.”
Random Acts of Kindness Week: February 11-17, 2018.
You’re invited to join in the week-long celebration of kindness. Help turn the world kind by celebrating RAK Day and RAK Week. It’s our chance have fun being a little extra kind.
When you see the Certified B Corporation seal, you know the company behind the service meets the highest standards of social and environmental impact.
We’re proud to be a B Corporation!
As you may already know, Artisan Dental recently became a B Corp. When Dr Andersen and her husband and co-owner, Scott, first started discussing it with the staff I have to admit that I had never heard the term B Corp and had no idea what it meant. Now that I understand what it means to be a B Corp, I’m so grateful to be a part of it. It’s an amazing feeling to come to work each day knowing that the company and the people you work for, put so much value in doing the right thing. It makes me proud to work where core values of love, service, ethical integrity, wisdom, collaboration, empathy, compassion, creativity and fun are the true driving forces of each and every day.
Being a B Corp isn’t about boasting either. It’s about spreading awareness to hopefully inspire others to want to use business as a force for good. With all the craziness in the world, this gives me hope that with the growing family of B Corp businesses around the globe we can all unite to make the world a better place.
Congratulations to 2017 Badger Bioneers!
Badger Bioneers are individuals or teams who are moving the Greater Madison Region toward a happier, healthier future — people who, in their professional or personal lives, are actively making change happen. They don’t need to be famous, or work in a specific field, or have a fancy title. They just need to be people who care, who take action, and who are making a difference.
We are proud to have our own Dr Nicole Andersen nominated as a Badger Bioneer 2017.
Madison Magazine Announces Best Places to Work Winner – Artisan Dental!
We are thrilled! More than 100 local companies were nominated in Madison Magazine’s annual Best Places to Work survey measuring six categories of engagement: communication and resources, individual needs, manager effectiveness, personal engagement, team dynamics and trust in leadership.
We LOVE working here and are excited to be selected.
Artisan Dental Recycling Program – Double Points in October
We love Madison where so many people in our community, both patients and non-patients, put forth the extra effort to bring items in to be recycled and keep them out of the landfills. We have sent in nearly 4000 items to Terracycle! So thank you to all of you.
Terracycle is offering double points on items donated in October, so it’s a great time to drop off any items that you, your friends, neighbors, coworkers have. Double points translates into more dollars being donated to charities including Feeding America.
Donations are accepted during business hours, M-F 7:00am – 5:00pm.
Flossing is the best way to promote healthy gums and prevent gum disease. We’ve all heard it before. It removes plaque, reduces bleeding, removes trapped food and prevents cavities. But what if you hate flossing or are physically unable? There are many great alternatives to try.
Dental Floss – sometimes you just need to find the right floss for you. Floss comes in waxed and unwaxed, Polytetrafluoroethylene (one example of this is Glide) and is great for tightly spaced teeth, Dental Tape which is broader and flatter than traditional floss, Super Floss is yarnlike with stiffer portions on the end.
Floss Picks and Soft Picks are great alternatives to clean around the teeth and under the gums and are widely available. We can provide you with a sample to try at your next cleaning.
Waterpiks, available in countertop and cordless versions, use water pressure to remove plaque and trapped food and to help flush out the area between your teeth and gums. Waterpiks are also a great option for people with braces, implants or bridges to get into areas that floss can’t reach. They work well for people with dexterity issues.
Individuals that are consistent with any version of devices to clean between the teeth are those that maintain the healthiest tissue, with very little to no bleeding. Studies show that nearly half of American adults over the age of 30 have some form of periodontal disease, and nearly two-thirds of those age 60 and above suffer from moderate to severe periodontal disease.
The key is to find something you are willing to use. There is no single product that works for all; if you don’t like it, you won’t use it.
