Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea

On a recent trip to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago I came across a colorful sculpture, Stella the Seahorse. Stella is thirteen feet tall, made entirely of plastic marine debris removed from Pacific Coast Beaches and is part of a traveling art exhibit “Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea” which officially debuts at the aquarium on September 23rd. Looking closely at Stella you see that she is made of things like drink bottles, bottle caps, toy shovels and TOOTHBRUSHES!

“Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea” inspires us to be part of the solution to reduce, reuse, repurpose and recycle. At Artisan Dental we encourage everyone, whether a patient here or not, to please gather up your toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, floss containers, mouthwash bottles and deodorant containers and bring them to us. We are delighted to partner with Terracyle to make sure that these items get repurposed and don’t become part of this enlightening exhibit!
